Welcome to the CTL blog

Well, we (the Center for Teaching & Learning staff) decided it was finally time to set up our own blog. We'd like this to be a place for all of us, and our colleagues and friends, to exchange ideas, discoveries, and even ruminative meanderings

As you might gather from the nature of the posts, and even the banner images, we like to have fun. That's part of what this space is about (even if we're up burning the midnight oil crafting a new post or putting together funky banner images).

If you arrived here by accident, you might check out the official CTL site.

The new blog looks great! We're trying to get a similar style going here; no love with the banner images, though :-\

Any ideas?

Here is a page with a few articles on how to set a banner image.

We basically edited our css to point to a script that delivers a random image. The script sits in a folder with all of the banner images. So, our "stylesheet" template has an entry that looks something like this:

#banner { background: #FFFFFF url('http://www.uvm.edu/ctl/blog_banners/rotate.php') center top no-repeat; }

You're more than welcome to come in to the Doctor Is In program for help with this.

agree with justin -

Hi, blog looks well, and just want to say thanks to justin Henry for the help with the banner, much appreciated, good luck guys

The Center for Teaching and Learning site loads fast! It's a great idea you minimized images and used lightweight css. - helps those on laggardly 56k connections.

Oh. Remember to keep updating your software. Too many miscreants out there these days.

Cheers!
